Research Assistant, NC Alternative Crops and Organics, NCSU Dept of Horticultural Science
Margaret Bloomquist is a Research Assistant with the Dept of Horticultural Science, NC State, at the Mountain Horticultural Crops Research and Extension Center in Mills River. She has been working in Dr. Jeanine Davis’ Alternative Crops and Organics Program for fours years – Primarily with Medicinal Herbs, organic vegetables, the Eastern broccoli projects, and other specialty crops research and extension efforts. Margaret received a BSc in sustainable agriculture and rural community development from the University of British Columbia and University of Minnesota; a Masters Certificate in Rural Development and Project Management from Norwegian University of Life Sciences and Makerere University. She is constantly continuing education and wisdom through her research positions and personal interests; including topics in soil ecology, plant medicine, marketing, regulations, organic agriculture, homeopathy, communication, education and more.
